Emma Jewel Newsletter Vol. 25 (11/21/2004) Birthday Celebrations All Around Yesterday was Miss Emma's 7 month birthday and my 31st. We celebrated by going to work with Joseph, who got off work at lunch and puttered around town with us all afternoon. Joseph got to feel birthday special, too. While he was working that morning, Emma and I went and had the oil changed in his car and had it cleaned. When he came out to the car, he was thrilled! :) Let's Just Talk About It Emma has little many conversations with herself. There are no words yet, but it sounds like talking. She's combining all sorts of sounds. It is like hearing people talk in the next room. You can tell they are talking, but just cannot make out the words. What Is Wrong with These Folks? Emma loves to go shopping because she gets to see all sorts of new people. As we navigate through the stores she yells at people to get their attention. She is geniuinely puzzeled when they look at her and smile but keep walking. The Zoo We took Miss Emma to the zoo for the first time. She always enjoys watching the goats, chickens, cat, and dogs, so we thought for sure she would enjoy the animals at the zoo. Actually, she could have cared less about the lazy alligators and napping lemurs. What she did watch closely and with much enthusiasm was the other little kids at the zoo. She thought the children were certainly the main attraction. We also all road the train. She thought that was alot of fun, but that loud whistle wasn't all that necessary. Momma Kay
